Printable polyolefin sleeving for permanent cable marking, chosen by the diameter of the conductor, not the label.

Rhino heat shrink tube is printed by the Rhino tool, slid over the conductor and shrunk down with a heat gun. This range covers 6mm 18051, 9mm 18053, 12mm 18055 and 19mm 18057 in black on white, and 6mm 18052, 9mm 18054, 12mm 18056 and 19mm 18058 in black on yellow. Every cartridge holds 1.5 metres. The 3:1 shrink ratio is what makes it work on site: the tube goes on loose enough to pass over a terminated end, then pulls down tight and stays.

Size it by the cable, not by how big you want the writing. The 6mm tube fits conductors 1.18mm to 2.33mm across, the 9mm fits 1.73mm to 3.73mm, the 12mm fits 2.97mm to 5.13mm and the 19mm fits 4.64mm to 8.70mm, all measured as outside diameter. Below the range the tube will not grip after shrinking, and above it the tube will not slide on at all. Measure one conductor before you order rather than guessing from the cable size printed on the sheath. Black on yellow is the usual choice for warning and safety circuits.

The tubing is rated from minus 55C to 135C, resists oil, water, solvents and UV, and is UL recognised to UL 224 as well as meeting MIL-M-81531 and SAE-DTL-23053/5, which is why it turns up in switchboards, plant rooms and defence work. The 6mm, 9mm and 12mm cartridges fit the Rhino 1000, 3000, 4200, 5000, 5200, 6000 and 6000+, and 19mm needs a Rhino 4200 or larger. No Rhino cartridge fits a LabelManager or LetraTag. See the sizes in Rhino heat shrink tube, wrap rather than sleeve with flexible nylon tape, label flat plates with permanent polyester, and find the tool in Rhino industrial.

  • 3:1 shrink ratio grips conductors from 1.18mm to 8.70mm outside diameter across the range
  • Printed directly by the Rhino tool, so the marker is legible and permanent
  • Polyolefin tubing rated from minus 55C to 135C in service
  • Resists oil, water, solvents, UV and general workshop chemicals
  • UL recognised to the UL 224 tubing standard, and RoHS and REACH compliant
  • Also meets MIL-M-81531 and SAE-DTL-23053/5 for defence and aerospace work
  • 1.5m per cartridge in 6mm, 9mm, 12mm and 19mm, black on white or black on yellow
  • Marking conductors and control cables in switchboards and distribution panels
  • Identifying data, comms and fibre runs in racks and risers
  • Labelling looms and harnesses in machinery and vehicle fit outs
  • Numbering circuits during solar, HVAC and building services installs
  • Warning and safety circuit marking using the black on yellow tubing
  • Tagging cable ends so a fault can be traced without a drawing

FAQs

Measure the outside diameter of the conductor. The 6mm tube fits 1.18mm to 2.33mm, the 9mm fits 1.73mm to 3.73mm, the 12mm fits 2.97mm to 5.13mm and the 19mm fits 4.64mm to 8.70mm. Below the range the tube will not grip, above it the tube will not slide on.
Yes. The tube is printed, slid over the conductor and then shrunk with a heat gun. It has a 3:1 shrink ratio, so it goes on loose and finishes tight.
The 6mm, 9mm and 12mm cartridges fit the Rhino 1000, 3000, 4200, 5000, 5200, 6000 and 6000+. The 19mm cartridge needs a Rhino 4200 or larger.
No. Heat shrink cartridges only fit Rhino industrial tools. LabelManager machines take D1 tape and LetraTag machines take LetraTag tape.
1.5 metres, in every size in this range. How many markers that gives you depends on the length of each printed marker.
Use heat shrink when the marker must not be removable and has to survive years of heat, oil and handling. Use flexible nylon tape when the cable is already terminated at both ends and you cannot slide a sleeve on.
