The 12mm D1 that stays stuck where standard tape lifts, rated from minus 40C to 80C.
D1 Durable is the heavy duty member of the D1 family, made in 12mm and offered here in four colours: black on white 1978364, white on black 1978365, black on orange 1978367 and white on red 1978366. The construction is tougher than standard D1 and the adhesive is far more aggressive, so it grips plastic, metal, powder coat and timber, including surfaces that are slightly textured or curved. Cassette length runs from 3 metres to 5.5 metres depending on the colour you choose.
It is still D1, so it fits LabelManager machines and nothing else. It will not fit a LetraTag, and it will not fit a Rhino industrial tool. DYMO also lists D1 Durable as unsupported in the LabelManager 500TS, the LabelManager Wireless PnP and the LabelWriter 450 Duo, so check your model before ordering. On a LabelManager 160P, 210D, 280P, 360D or 420P it drops straight in.
Choose durable over standard when the label has to survive water, sunlight, cleaning products or a cold store, because standard D1 is an indoor office tape and will lift in those conditions. Colour is the other decision, with orange and red widely used for hazard and priority marking.
