The flat surface tape: a thin, stiff polyester film with an adhesive that does not let go of a faceplate.

Permanent polyester is the Rhino tape for anything flat and permanent. This range covers 9mm 18482, 12mm 18483 and 19mm 18484 in black on white, 19mm 622290 in black on clear, 19mm 18487 in black on metallic and 24mm 1734523 in black on white. Every cartridge holds 5.5 metres, two more than the flexible nylon cartridges. The film beds down on a smooth face and resists solvents, cleaning chemicals and abrasion, and it is rated from minus 40C to 120C with UL 969 recognition.

Width sets what you can fit on the label. 9mm drops neatly onto a breaker, a terminal strip or a data outlet without crowding the port. 12mm suits equipment panels and small asset plates. 19mm carries a full description or an asset number and barcode. 24mm is for rating plates, machine panels and signage. Colour is about the surface: black on white is the readable default, black on clear disappears into a painted or printed faceplate so only the text shows, and black on metallic gives the look of an engraved plant or asset plate.

Two cautions before ordering. Polyester will lift at the edges on a tight curve, so use flexible nylon where the label wraps cable or conduit. And 24mm fits only the Rhino 6000 and 6000+, while 19mm needs a Rhino 4200 or larger and 9mm and 12mm fit the whole Rhino family. No Rhino cartridge fits a LabelManager or LetraTag. See the range in Rhino permanent polyester tape, compare flexible nylon tape for curved work, use it for asset tagging, and find the tool in Rhino industrial.

FAQs

Only if it is a Rhino 6000 or 6000+. No other Rhino tool accepts a 24mm cartridge. The 19mm needs a Rhino 4200 or larger, and the 9mm and 12mm fit the whole family including the Rhino 1000 and 3000.
Permanent polyester is for flat surfaces such as faceplates, panels, switchgear, asset plates and shelving. Flexible nylon is for labels that wrap around cable, wire or conduit, or that go on rough and textured surfaces, because polyester lifts at the edges on a tight curve.
9mm fits a breaker, terminal strip or data outlet without crowding the port. 12mm suits equipment panels and small asset plates. 19mm carries a full description or a barcode. 24mm is for rating plates, machine panels and signage.
Black on clear lets the printed text sit on a painted or printed faceplate without a white block around it. Black on metallic gives the look of an engraved plant or asset plate, which suits rating plates and equipment identification.
Not cleanly. The adhesive is permanent and designed to resist solvents, so plan on the label staying where you put it.
No. Rhino cartridges only fit Rhino industrial tools. LabelManager machines take D1 tape and LetraTag machines take LetraTag tape.
