Permanent polyester is the RHINO cartridge for flat surfaces. The polyester face is thin and firm rather than stretchy, and the adhesive is meant to stay put for the life of the equipment, which suits faceplates, panels, machine housings and asset tags. It resists solvents, cleaning chemicals and abrasion and is rated from minus 40C to 120C. It is a genuine RHINO industrial cartridge: 9mm to 19mm fit the RHINO 4200, 5200 and 6000+ along with the older 1000, 3000, 5000 and 6000, and the 24mm cartridge fits the 6000+ only. It will not fit a LabelManager or LetraTag.

The deciding question is whether the surface is flat. Polyester needs full contact to hold, so on cable, conduit or a textured wall it will lift at the corners and vinyl or nylon is the better choice. Clear is worth using where a white block would spoil a finished surface, and metallic reads as a permanent asset plate. Clean and dry the surface first, because a permanent adhesive is hard to reposition once it is down. Each cartridge holds 5.5 metres, two more than flexible nylon, so it goes further on a long panel run.
