Choosing DYMO LabelWriter Durable Industrial Labels

Durable labels are what you order when a paper label will not survive the job. They are coated polypropylene rather than thermal paper, with an industrial adhesive made for the surfaces that lift an ordinary address label: chilled and frozen stock, oily bins, dusty racking, textured plastic crates and pallets that live outside. They still print by direct thermal on a LabelWriter, so there is no ink or ribbon, and they are all genuine DYMO, which the 550, 550 Turbo and 5XL insist on through Automatic Label Recognition.

  • 1933083, 25 x 25mm, 1700 labels per roll: small asset, bin and component marking
  • 1933085, 19 x 64mm, 900 per roll: narrow parts, tools and equipment tags
  • 1933084, 57 x 32mm, 800 per roll: barcodes and stock codes at a readable width
  • 1933081, 25 x 89mm, 700 per roll: shelf edge, racking and product identification
  • 1976411, 25 x 54mm, 160 per roll: the durable return address label, for laptops, chargers and small assets
  • 1933088, 59 x 102mm, 300 per roll, and 1933087, 59 x 190mm, 170 per roll: carton faces, pallet ID and long spines
  • 1933086, 104 x 159mm, 200 per roll: full width shipping and pallet labels, 4XL and 5XL only

Work from surface first and size second. If the label goes onto something cold, damp, textured or constantly handled, this is the right family and paper is not. Then match the size to the space you have, and check what width your printer takes before ordering the 104mm rolls, because only the 4XL and 5XL feed them. Everything up to 59mm wide runs on the 550 and 550 Turbo. For asset registers, the 25 x 25mm and 57 x 32mm sizes take a barcode and a serial cleanly, and for racking the 25 x 89mm shelf edge label survives the forklift traffic that peels paper in a month. Cold store operators should print and apply at room temperature where they can, then move the stock; the adhesive bonds better warm than cold, whatever the label.

Warehouses, cold storage, manufacturers, trades and hire fleets across Australia buy these for labelling that has to outlast the next pick, and DymoOnline has stocked nothing but genuine DYMO since 2009. The 104mm wide rolls need a 4XL or 5XL machine, so check 4XL and 5XL labels and the DYMO 5XL range if you are printing that width, see asset tagging for the polyester and metal alternatives, or standard LabelWriter labels for everyday paper rolls.
