Which DYMO Shipping Label Size Do You Need

Pick the size your carrier asks for, then check the printer can feed it. The 104 x 159mm four by six inch label is the standard courier and marketplace consignment format in Australia, and it needs a LabelWriter 4XL or 5XL to print at full width. The 54 x 101mm standard shipping roll runs on any current LabelWriter, including the 550 and 550 Turbo. Get that one decision right and the rest is simply reordering the same roll. Every roll here is genuine DYMO, which matters because the 550, 550 Turbo and 5XL use Automatic Label Recognition and print on authentic DYMO labels only.

  • 0904980, 104 x 159mm: the four by six courier and marketplace label, single roll or 6 and 12 roll packs, 4XL and 5XL only
  • 2166659, 102 x 210mm: DHL consignment labels, 4XL and 5XL only
  • 0947420, 59 x 102mm: small shipping label for compact parcels, 4XL and 5XL only
  • 99014, 54 x 101mm: the standard shipping label for satchels, single roll or 12 roll pack, on any LabelWriter
  • 2133400, 54 x 101mm in high visibility yellow: same size as 99014, for benches that colour code by carrier or priority
  • LabelWriter 5XL, alone or as a Starter or Starter Pro bundle with rolls, plus the 1762422 spare spool for 4XL and 5XL

Start with your busiest parcel. If most orders leave on a courier consignment note, buy the 5XL and the 104 x 159mm rolls and stop worrying about scaling artwork down. If you post satchels and letters, a 54 x 101mm roll on a standard LabelWriter is enough, and the 36 x 89mm large address label in the main LabelWriter range covers cartons and internal despatch notes. Direct thermal means no ink or toner, so the roll is the only running cost. Move to the bulk packs once you are printing every day, and put the roll on Subscribe and Save so it turns up before you run out. If you are buying the printer at the same time, the 5XL Starter Pro bundle with six rolls costs less per roll than buying the parts separately.

Online sellers, warehouses and despatch teams across Australia reorder these every week, and DymoOnline has shipped nothing but genuine DYMO since 2009 from stock in QLD, NSW, VIC, WA and SA. Keep a spare spool for the 4XL or 5XL on hand, weigh before you print with DYMO scales, and see 4XL and 5XL labels, LabelWriter labels for address sizes and warehouse and shipping for the rest of the despatch range. Free shipping over $149 and same day despatch on orders in by 12pm AEST.
