The entry point of the LabelManager range: handheld, QWERTY, D1 tape up to 12mm.

The DYMO LabelManager 160P, part number 2174612, is the simplest machine in the LabelManager ladder and the one most people start with. It has a computer style QWERTY keyboard, a large LCD that shows your text and formatting before you print, and one touch smart keys for bold, italic, underline, boxes and vertical text. There are 6 font sizes, 8 text styles and 228 symbols and clip art images. It prints up to two lines on a label, or one line on 6mm tape.

It takes DYMO D1 tape only, in 6mm, 9mm and 12mm widths, so 12mm is the widest label it will print. LetraTag tape does not fit a LabelManager, and neither do Rhino industrial cartridges. Power is 6 AAA alkaline batteries or the optional 9V adaptor, and neither is included in the box. There is no USB port on this model, so labels are typed on the machine rather than designed on a computer.

Choose the 160P if you want tidy 12mm labels for files, shelves and storage without paying for features you will not use. If you need 19mm or 24mm tape, rechargeable power, a computer link or barcodes, move up the range: the 360D and 420P take tape to 19mm and the Executive 640CB takes 24mm. Compare the full range in LabelManager label makers, stock up on D1 standard tape or tougher D1 durable tape, add the adaptor from DYMO accessories, or see what else suits a workplace in office and admin labelling.

FAQs

DYMO D1 tape only, in 6mm, 9mm or 12mm widths. LetraTag tape does not fit a LabelManager, and Rhino industrial cartridges do not fit either. Check the cassette says D1 before you order.
12mm. If you need 19mm labels look at the LabelManager 360D or 420P, and for 24mm labels look at the Executive 640CB.
No. The box holds the label maker, a D1 starter cassette and the quick start guide. It needs 6 AAA alkaline batteries, and the 9V adaptor is an optional extra sold separately.
No. The 160P has no USB port and works on its own. If you want to design labels on a PC or Mac, the LabelManager 280P and 420P connect by USB and the Executive 640CB connects by Bluetooth or USB-C.
The machine is identical. The value bundle adds three 12mm x 7m black on white D1 tapes so you can label straight away instead of buying tape separately.
Up to two lines on a label. On 6mm tape only one line will fit.
