The DYMO LabelWriter 550 Turbo, part number 2119730, is a direct thermal desktop printer that prints up to 90 labels a minute at 300 dpi. It is the same machine as the LabelWriter 550 with more throughput and an Ethernet port, so it can sit on a bench and take jobs from several workstations rather than being tied to one computer. There is no ink, toner or ribbon to buy.

The ladder is decided by two questions: how wide are your labels, and how many do you print an hour. On width the Turbo is identical to the 550, taking standard LabelWriter labels up to 62mm wide, which covers 36 x 89mm address, 54 x 101mm shipping and 59 x 190mm lever arch. It will not print the 104 x 159mm four by six inch courier label. For that size you need the wide format LabelWriter 5XL. On volume, 90 labels a minute against the 550 at 62 is the whole reason to pay the difference.

Automatic Label Recognition reads the installed roll and reports its size, type and how many labels remain, using authentic DYMO labels only. It runs on the free DYMO Connect for Desktop software under Windows 8.1 and later and macOS 10.14 and later.
